Experienced
divers will tell you that Marsa Alam has everything that Hurghada
and Sharm has got but just without the crowds - and that has to
be a bonus.
It is possible to dive at Marsa Alam all year round but you will
generally find much better conditions during the summer months as
the sea can get quite rough during winter.
Marsa Alam is a divers paradise with spectacular coral reefs stretching
for miles along the barren coastline. More and more dive centres
are opening up so whatever you level of previous experience, you
won't be short of somewhere to find your feet.
If you want to escape from it all, experience total freedom and
see some of the most intricate corals and brightly coloured fish
in the world, then diving is definitely for you.
Where to dive in Marsa Alam
One of the most popular dive sites is Elphinstone reef. With sheer
walls plunging down to a depth of around seventy metres, clear blue
waters and soft corals - you can quite easily see why this is one
of the most popular dive sites in the area.

Perhaps the next most popular dive site off the coast of Marsa
Alam is Samadai Reef - also known as Dolphin House. Inhabited by
a large number of spinner dolphins who have made this reef their
home, a dive here is a memory you will treasure for ever.

In truth, wherever you choose to dive in
Marsa Alam will be an experience to take home with you. Underwater
caves, reefs and shipwrecks just some of the non-marine life you will
experience.
